Justin R. CristaldiCinematography Graduated with a degree in Broadcasting and Communications from Montclair State University. He also had a minor in film and art history. Having worked with 8mm film as a child editing his father's home movies from the 1950s, By the time he got into college, they were already editing on VHS. "not being able to physically see the actual image frame by frame like you can with film versus magnetic tape drove me crazy." He recalls. "But since then the digital age has made life much easier, editing equipment is very sophisticated and finally high definition is starting to catch on. Finally a better quality video with a bigger canvas or frame to work with that is closer to cinematic dimensions". While he always wanted to make films, even since a child, today his passion are documentaries. "I love telling a story that everyone can understand in a relatively short amount of time". He says, but admits "Sure I love The Godfather Trilogy, Doctor Zhivago and even the mini-series Centennial", but let's face it, unless there is a blizzard outside or you are sick in bed for a day or more, you aren't going to have the time to watch those in one sitting." Long or short, he believes every frame should be flawless from begining to end, even if its a live event. While Justin also loves photography (having learned on a 35mm camera he got for his 18th birthday), he finds the digital age exciting and his first love remains to be cinematography "moving pictures much more intriguing to me".
